Most Common 9/11 Counterarguments

When I explain to people that I think 9-11 was an inside job, these are some of the most frequent objections I get:

Argument 1: For 9-11 to be an inside job so many people would have to be involved, surely someone would have leaked.

Put aside for a moment the obvious double-standard that critics are willing to believe al-Qaeda could have maintained operational secrecy AND pulled off this caper with only about 20 participants, but if a secret government group was behind 9/11 it would require hundreds of loose-lipped agents.
Putting that asside, they are really making two objections:

1. Pulling off 9-11 would require large numbers of participants.
2. Someone with inside knowledge of 9-11 would surely speak out.

My response to the first objection is BINGO! You've got it! You've correctly concluded that 9/11 could not possibly have been pulled off by 19 amateur hijackers directed by a cave dweller in Afghanistan; it is a much too complicated project. 9/11 involved MANY more people; planners, controllers, patsies, demolition experts, military commanders, disinformation agents, finance, accounting etc. In fact 9/11 is so complicated it must have had (and continues to have) government sponsorship. The media, of course, focuses its attention only on the patsies. (No, don't look behind the curtain... LOOK... over here, scary brown men.)

As for objection two; that surely someone involved in the 9-11 plot would speak out, that's a mixed bag. We know that the government routinely conducts secret operations involving large numbers of individuals and maintains operational security for years, decades, sometimes indefinitely. After all, the government can use the threat of prosecution, or worse, to enforce its secrecy. Many people involved may not have even known that what they were doing had anything to do with 9-11. For example the military personnel involved in any of the dozen ‘training exercises’ going on that day had no way of knowing they were being deliberately ‘taken out of the play’ on 9-11.

On the other hand, many people HAVE spoken out. None of the principals of course, but firefighters, FBI agents, NTSP people and many others have given testimony supporting the inside-job position.

Examples:

Timothy McNiven (codename: Grillfire) says that as an Army planner in 1976 his group planned and documented the exact scenario supposedly used by the hijackers.

Nick DeMasi, NYFD claims to have seen at least 3 of the 4 ‘black boxes’ recovered at the WTC, though the government denies it. Backing up DeMasi, an unnamed whistleblower at NTSB claims the FBI has the boxes and NTSB recovered data from them. (COUNTERPUNCH)

Many, many NY firefighters report having seen and heard explosions at WTC that brought down the towers “just like a controlled demolition”. They also report that they are being threatened and intimidated into not telling their stories.

There are many more stories like these on the web. They're not hard to find. There is a great interview with Paul Craig Roberts on the topic of why people don't speak out: Listen here.

I have to admit, the legend of the cave dweller and 19 hijackers is a lot simpler, but then, fairy tails always are.

Argument 2: Our government could not possibly be so cruel as to kill it's own citizens in such a sinister attack.

Now who's being naive?

Need I point out that the US executes more of it's citizens than almost any other country on earth, including the underage and mentally impaired. Or that the US has killed hundreds of thousands of innocent Iraqis since this war began.

More to the point, in the days immediately after 9/11, with dust still hanging in the air, the EPA bowed to pressure from the Bush administration and declared that the air was safe to breath. We now know that it was not. The air was filled with asbestos and other harmful particles. Thanks to the EPA's callous disregard to human health, more people, (firemen, police and rescue workers) will die from breathing the air at ground zero, than died on that day.

For more specific proof that the government has put plans in place to kill American citizens and make it look like a terrorist attack, just look at the Operation NorthWoods documents. 'Nuf said.

Argument 3: We already know who is responsible, it was Osama, he even admits it!

There is absolutely no proof whatever, that Osama was behind the attack. No credible evidence has even been offered. There is one video tape, which was conveniently 'found' in Afghanistan; but it is easily discredited just by looking at the tape and comparing it to any known picture of Osama bin Laden... it's just not him. (see for yourself)

In fact, in a report by TeamLiberty.net in 2006, the FBI says, “No hard evidence connecting Bin Laden to 9/11”. So even the FBI admits that they have nothing linking Bin Laden to 9/11. The reason they put him on the 'most wanted' list is for the bombing of embassies in 1998.

Think about it... aside from the one fake tape, what evidence has been supplied by the government to support the contention that Osama and al-Qaeda were behind the attack? ...Think about it... Not one shred.

And recent audio tapes purporting to be from bin-Laden, not him either. I think he's probably dead, but he's too useful as a boogy-man to ever let go of, so we should expect the administration to bring him out whenever they need to stir-up some fresh fear. Sad, really, really sad.

Even if Osama bin Laden was involved in some minor level, which is not proven, remember that al Qaeda was created, funded and trained by the CIA. Robert Gates, current SCEDEF, when he was in the CIA, founded al Qaeda in 1979 as a means of drawing the Soviets into a conflict in Afghanistan. Al Qaeda is a CIA operation but it's participation in 9/11 appears to be limited to providing the patsies.
